German hygiene paper manufacturer Fripa Papierfabrik Albert Friedrich KG has started construction work on its new paper machine (PM 8) at its Miltenberg site. The groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion project took place on 29 October.
To make room for the new production facilities, existing buildings will first be demolished. The new paper machine hall will offer around 6,000 m² of floor space and be complemented by a parent-roll warehouse, a transport bridge for automatic reel handling.
The company had placed the order for the new tissue machine with Andritz in July 2025. Once completed, the new unit will have an annual production capacity of 37,000 tpy and a maximum production speed of 2,100 m/min.
Fripa did not disclose the exact investment amount but described it as being in the mid double-digit million-euro range. The investment aims to strengthen production capacity and secure the company’s long-term competitiveness.
