Lemit Paper to set up a duplex paper plant with 450 TPD, in Gujarat, India

Lemit Papers LLP of India is set to expand production of duplex board at its mill in Morbi, Gujarat. Some analysts expect paper and board consumption in India to grow between 9 and 10% over the next year, making the timing of the investment prudent.

Founded by a group of young entrepreneurs, Lemit Papers is one the largest duplex board plant ever set up in India. Suppliers for the project includes:

  • Kadant Lamort S.A.S will supply pulp mill and approach flow machines.
  • Paper Machine will be from QinyangPing’an Light Industry machinery, China.
  • Hot dispersion will be supplied by Cellwood Machinery;
  • IQ scanner is procured from Valmet.

“This board mill is being founded by the business partners of L Group of Companies, a major player in the Indian ceramics industry. L Group of Companies having more than ten manufacturing plants for ceramic tiles and is diversifying its business and setting up a Duplex Board mill with a capacity of 450 tonnes per day,” explains Praful Patel, Managing Director, Lemit Papers.

The paper mill will manufacture LWC, HWC, Grey back and white back duplex boards in various thicknesses. Their deckle size will be 3750 mm and product will be available in reel and ream form. The installation work is going faster and the project expects to go for commercial production by May 2022 and it is targeted to ship the finished products in reel & ream.
