Valmet to supply a Quality Control System to Billerud in Skärblacka, Sweden

Valmet received an order from Billerud to supply a Valmet IQ Quality Control System (QCS) with a Valmet IQ Steam Profiler and a Valmet IQ Scanner to its production facility in Skärblacka, Sweden.

“Billerud is one of the leading paper producers in Sweden, and Valmet is proud to be expanding our cooperation with them in Skärblacka. The order was included in Valmet’s orders received for the second quarter of 2025. Its value will not be disclosed. The delivery and start-up are scheduled for the second quarter of 2026. The delivery includes a Valmet IQ Quality Control System (QCS) including a Valmet IQ Scanner with IQ Quality Measurements for basis weight, moisture, caliper, and ash, which are integrated into PM4 with Valmet IQ MD Optimizer and Valmet IQ CD Controls. The delivery also includes a Valmet IQ Steam Profiler.

The Valmet IQ Scanner is a distortion-free platform for Valmet IQ sensors, providing fast, high-resolution sheet quality profiles from edge to edge. A solid construction, combined with built-in intelligence and diagnostics, ensures trouble-free operation.

The Valmet IQ Steam Profiler is a high-performance steam profiler system with advanced steam injection technology to increase production capacity, decrease energy consumption, and improve moisture profile. It is a multi-zone steam actuator system that provides unique profiling accuracy through its electromechanical actuator with position feedback.
