Antalis has expanded its presence in the European packaging market by acquiring Germany-based Speidel Verpackungen, a manufacturer specializing in custom-engineered packaging solutions. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Founded in 1981, Speidel Verpackungen employs around 60 people and generated nearly €17 million (approximately US$19.5 million) in revenue last year. The company serves a broad range of industries, including medical technology, mechanical engineering, metalworking, and automotive, with tailored packaging solutions designed to meet specific customer requirements.
Speidel’s manufacturing capabilities include corrugated and heavy-duty corrugated board packaging, as well as wood- and foam-based protective packaging solutions. The acquisition aligns with Antalis’ strategy of strengthening its position in the customised packaging segment, which the company considers a key driver of future growth.
Commenting on the acquisition, Antalis CEO Hervé Poncin said the addition of Speidel Verpackungen enhances the company’s expertise in bespoke packaging and further strengthens its ability to deliver high-value solutions to customers across Europe.
Speidel Verpackungen Managing Director Rainer Speidel welcomed the move, stating that joining Antalis will provide the company with access to a broader international network, increased resources, and opportunities to invest in innovation while expanding the reach of its sustainable packaging portfolio.
The acquisition continues Antalis’ expansion strategy in the packaging sector. In 2025, the company also acquired The Packaging Company (Midlands) in the UK, a move aimed at broadening its product offering and reinforcing its ability to meet rising demand for sustainable packaging solutions.
