Voith and Palm jointly implement conversion project in King’s Lynn

The Palm Group plans to convert the PM 7 paper machine at its King’s Lynn, UK, facility to produce corrugated base paper from recycled fiber.

With this investment, Palm is aligning the facility with the changing demands of the European paper market.

The retrofit is taking place against the backdrop of a structural decline in the market for newsprint. In the future, the paper machine will produce corrugated medium base paper from recycled paper, thereby strengthening the company’s product portfolio in the packaging sector.

Palm and Voith have a long-standing partnership in the paper industry. Together, they have already implemented major investment and modernization projects, including the BlueLine OCC stock preparation system for PM 5 at the Palm Aalen site. The project in King’s Lynn builds on this long-standing partnership and underscores the shared goal of making paper production sites fit for the future.
